Alfred Finck (PhD) writes to let us know what he's been up to since finishing his Ph.D. "I did some human factors work and then moved on to studying otolaryngology as a postdoc at Hopkins in Baltimore, taught and did research in ENT at Temple University Medical School. In 1972 I moved over to the College of Arts and Sciences at Temple, where I taught sensory-physiology, psychophysics, and did studies on the spider vibration and balance receptor. I retired from academia in '94 and now I am the principal contrabassist in several Delaware Valley orchestras, as well as a section bass in the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia. I also play chamber music and jazz (I wish it were possible to make bass strings from spider silk . . . They'd last forever!). Does anyone out there remember the Town and Country Restaurant? I used to play music there with Joe Scianni '53E (MM), '59E (DMA). What pleasant memories! I would love to hear from any Rochester friends and anyone in the Delaware Valley who'd like to play Dvorak, Trout, Boccherini Quintets, or some ever-so-neat chamber works."
