Nancy Heller Cohen ’70N is the author of Died Blonde, the sixth book in her Bad Hair Day mystery series. . . . Priscilla Nelson was one of three finalists for the position of dean of Western Michigan University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

1971
Kathy Carrese Gerbasi ’76 (PhD), instructor of psychology at Niagara County Community College, spoke at the fourth annual Human-Animal Bond Initiative . . . Thomas Parks writes, “An article I wrote, about a house I designed, was featured in the summer 2004 issue of Fine Homebuilding. I am an architect based in Boston.”

1972
Carol Adams is the author of Prayers for Animals. . . . Ken Cohn writes, “I am a general surgeon in transition. I was associate professor of surgery at Dartmouth University until 1996, when I went to the Tuck School to obtain my M.B.A. Currently, I care for patients, cover other surgeons’ practices, and teach business skills to disgruntled doctors. I have written the book Collaborative Care: Strategies for Improving Communication between Physicians and Hospital Administrators, which will be published in March.”

1973
Penny Baird was named one of Architectural Digest’s top 100 interior designers and architects. . . . Robert Blumenthal has released the CD Ernst Krenek: Twelve-Tone Miniatures. . . . Barry ’79M (PhD) and Rebecca Belkin Rosenstein ’74 announce the birth of their first grandchild, Joshua Daniel Saks, on September 13, to their daughter, Dina, and her husband, Aaron Saks. Barry is professor of radiation oncology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and Rebecca is a senior director in development operations at Pfizer. . . . Howard Woodard was elected to the board of directors for the South Dakota Senior Olympics. He also qualified for several track events for the 2005 National Senior Games.

Dennis Minchella (see ’75 School of Nursing). . . . David Schwartz was named director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the National Toxicology Program. Previously, he was director of the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Division and vice chair of research in the Department of Medicine at Duke University.

1976
David Carlucci was named CEO of IMS Health and was appointed to the board of directors. He formerly was president and COO of the company.

1977
Ellen Doherty Hadley has published One Dear Land, a book of essays and fiction outlining her ideas to help the world become a better place. . . . Kenneth Ouriel ’86M (Res), ’87M (Flw), chair of the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, professor of surgery at the clinic’s Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western University, and a former faculty member at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, has been appointed to Biopure Corp.’s medical advisory board. . . . Robert Remstein is associate vice president of medical affairs at Capital Health System. . . . Richard Rubin was named senior vice president for medical affairs and chief medical officer at Seton Health.

1978
Navy Captain Steve Rowland writes to say that he has been assigned the post of executive assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for manpower and personnel and Chief of Naval Personnel. Steve and his wife, Ellen Phelps Rowland ’79, live in northern Virginia.

1979
Robert Bly writes that he has published his 60th book, Bob Bly’s Guide to Freelance Writing Success.
