The University of Rochester’s 176th Commencement Ceremony marks the conferral of academic degrees for all undergraduate and graduate students. The Commencement Ceremony kicks off a weekend full of events for graduates, their families and friends, faculty, and staff.

The all-University Commencement Ceremony is a large outdoor celebration for individuals set to earn a University of Rochester degree. The individual school and department graduation ceremonies offer graduates the opportunity to be individually recognized for earning their particular degree; this is where graduates traditionally cross the stage and/or have their names read aloud.
