The main event

University Commencement Ceremony

 Friday, May 16, 8:45 a.m. 
 Fauver Stadium at the Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex

The University of Rochester’s 175th Commencement Ceremony marks the conferral of academic degrees for all undergraduate and graduate students. The Commencement Ceremony kicks off a weekend full of events for graduates, their families and friends, faculty, and staff. This year’s address will be delivered by Tommy Evans ’99, an award-winning journalist and NPR editor.

Food truck lunch and celebration

 Friday, May 16, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
 Wilson Quadrangle, River Campus

Graduates, their families, and friends are invited to grab a bite from local food trucks and take pictures together in front of the UR2025 and MELIORA letter installations.

School and department graduation ceremonies

The all-University Commencement Ceremony is a large outdoor celebration for individuals set to earn a University of Rochester degree. The individual school and department graduation ceremonies offer graduates the opportunity to be individually recognized for earning their particular degree—this is where graduates traditionally cross the stage and/or have their names read aloud.
