AAPI trainee support group meeting
The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) trainee support committee will host a support group meeting on Zoom on Thursday, June 16, from noon to 1 p.m. EDT to create a safe space for AAPI graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to check in, share experiences, and support one another. Drop in at any time. Register in advance to attend; you’ll receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting.

University Health Service is holding a food drive in memory and honor of Mother Pearl Young, a victim of the Buffalo shooting, who ran a food pantry through her church for 25 years; donations will be used to support the pantry at her church. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at boxes in Wilson Commons 201 (Common Connection) and in Lam Square, Rush Rhees Library, over the next couple of weeks.
Tasty Tuesday food trucks visiting today
Treat yourself to local cuisine on Tasty Tuesdays from food trucks on Wilson Quadrangle from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each week during the summer. Today features Eat Greek, Morgan’s Cereal Bar, and Effortlessly Healthy. Whether you purchase food from the trucks or bring your own lunch, there will be lawn games, music, and picnic blankets to enjoy. Concert by Eastman pianist to benefit Ukrainian music students
Alex Kobrin, an associate professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music, will give a faculty fundraising concert on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. All funds raised will be used to cover music lessons, travel expenses, and accommodations for Ukrainian students attending Estonia’s Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival, codirected by Kobrin.
Face masks are strongly encouraged for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors indoors. Patient care areas, as well as University shuttles and transportation, continue to require masking. A full description of Medical Center masking requirements is available on the URMC Intranet (University network access required).
