Constructed in 1930 on the River Campus, the Georgian Revival-style building was a student center and the birthplace of the University’s Gay Liberation Front.

Steering wheel locks available to Hyundai and KIA drivers in the University community
Hyundai Motor America has provided the University with steering wheel locks to deter Hyundai and Kia vehicle thefts. The Department of Public Safety is able to distribute one free wheel lock to anyone in the University community who owns or drives a Hyundai or Kia. While supplies last, individuals can pick up a steering wheel lock at DPS headquarters, 612 Wilson Blvd., River Campus, by showing a University ID and proof of owning or driving a Hyundai or Kia vehicle, such as a vehicle registration card. In January, DPS alerted the University community to the uptick in incidents involving the attempted theft of these vehicles around campus. DPS continues to give extra attention to the target areas as the investigations continue and also provides an FAQ on the situation.
It’s difficult to say if this year’s human metapneumovirus (HMPV) season is worse than usual, says Ann Falsey, a professor of medicine and codirector of the Medical Center’s Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation Unit, because “we test a lot more now. People are very attuned to getting a swab” after three years of the pandemic.
