Linda Lord, a nurse practitioner in the Adult Outpatient Nutrition Support Clinic, was awarded the Fellow of the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition designation during the ASPEN24 Nutrition Science and Practice conference in April. This designation honors extraordinary achievement in education, practice, research, and service to ASPEN and the field of clinical nutrition.
M. Patricia Rivera, the C. Jane Davis & C. Robert Davis Distinguished Professor in Pulmonary Medicine, is the new president of the American Thoracic Society for 2023–24. Margaret-Ann Carno, a professor of clinical nursing, has been elected as chair of the Nursing Assembly for the American Thoracic Society.

Eastman hosts the American Harp Society’s conference
1969: The Eastman School of Music hosted the American Harp Society’s sixth national conference, which took place from June 26 to 29. Around 200 individuals representing most of the nation’s major orchestras and music schools attended the conference, which was chaired by Eileen Malone, a professor of harp. The blog “This Week at Eastman: The View from the Archive” includes more information about the conference and takes a look back at Eastman’s history of hosting professional conferences and meetings.
