Thirty different countries were represented among the Eastman Institute for Oral Health’s 77 graduates at a ceremony held late last month. Read more about the Class of 2023.
University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Tuesday, July 18, for Ryan Bradford, a peace officer in the Department of Public Safety, who died on June 19. Bradford joined the University staff in 2017.
Sign up to attend the “Staff and Faculty Tennis Social” organized by the Event and Classroom Management Office on Thursday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lyman Outdoor Tennis Center on the River Campus. The social is open to all level players; registration is required. Depending on the number of players who’ve registered to come, each player will start with a preassigned partner. Walk with the University in Saturday’s Pride Parade
Join the University in walking in the Rochester Pride Parade on Saturday, July 15. The shuttle will be looping from the Rush Rhees shuttle stop to the corner of Monroe Ave and Alexander Street (the start of the parade route) until 1 p.m. After 1 p.m., the shuttle will be looping from the Rush Rhees shuttle stop to the corner of Culver Road and Norris Drive (the end of the parade route) until 8 p.m. Find more information here.

The Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with the Departments of Medicine, Neurology, and Surgery; the School of Nursing; Wilmot Cancer Institute; and the Medical Center’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, hosts the 11th annual “Summer Brown Bag Series,” an educational series focused on all facets of inequity.
The next session, “Strategies for Healing: Helping Ourselves to Help Others,” takes place on Wednesday, July 19, from noon to 1 p.m. and features speakers from the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence. Participants may attend virtually or in person at the School of Nursing. Register here.
