Join next year’s student orientation team

The Office of Orientation and New Student Programs is accepting applications for the 2024–25 student orientation team. Open to Arts, Sciences & Engineering undergraduate students, team positions (Orientation Leader, Welcome Week Leader, and Welcome Week Volunteer) are responsible for welcoming next year’s first-year, transfer, and exchange students to campus, as well as their families. Perks include on-campus summer housing (Orientation Leaders only) and early move-in for fall 2024. Time commitments and specific responsibilities vary by position, so be sure to review the website for full details on each role. You can also learn more at an upcoming information session, the first of which will be held Wednesday, December 13, at 5 p.m. in Dewey Hall, Room 2-110E.

‘Political Power of Bureaucratic Agents’ research seminar

Join the Goergen Institute for Data Science and the Department of Political Science for “Political Power of Bureaucratic Agents: Evidence from Policing in New York City” with Elisa Wirsching, a PhD Candidate at New York University in the Wilf Family Department of Politics. Share the Warmth: Coat drive for patients in need

Friends of Strong, Advantage Federal Credit Union, and Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department are collecting clean, gently used—or new—men’s winter coats for patients in need who are being discharged from the hospital throughout the coming winter months. Donation collection boxes are in the hospital’s main lobby, the Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters near Sarah Flaum Atrium, and on the ground floor between University ID and post offices (just inside the 256 Crittenden Boulevard loop). The general public may use the donation bin located outside of Advantage’s Penfield branch at 2515 Browncroft Boulevard.

Tree farm proceeds benefit Golisano Children's Hospital

Are you looking for a way to give back while doing your holiday shopping this season? Visit Zoey’s Lovely Heart Club’s eighth annual Tree Farm Fundraiser, on December 2 and 3 at 3614 Rush-Mendon Road (Rt. 251). All proceeds from the fundraiser support Golisano Children’s Hospital and families in the NICU.
