Inclusive Teaching Group
Open to Rochester instructors, faculty, and staff teaching a course in any discipline that enrolls students in the School of Arts & Sciences or Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, this six-week program explores evidence-based teaching practices to create and sustain inclusive learning environments. Participants will engage with online video content provided and meet weekly to discuss how these instructional practices and concepts can be applied specifically within the context of the University. Designing a new spring 2025 course enrolling students in the School of Arts & Sciences or Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences? Redesigning an existing one? Work with the Teaching Center and a group of colleagues over the fall semester to plan and meet during the spring semester to debrief and troubleshoot. Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit pilot awards
The University’s Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit within the Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking submissions from research faculty across the University for a one-year pilot award meant to develop preliminary data related to the fields of vaccinology, diagnostics, and treatment of infectious diseases. Bruster’s Ice Cream fundraiser by Friends of Strong
Purchase a two-scoop dish of ice cream on Wednesday, August 7, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and a portion of the sales will be donated to Friends of Strong in support of patient- and family-centered care. The Bruster’s Ice Cream truck will be in front of Golisano Children’s Hospital on Crittenden Boulevard with 10 flavors to choose from—including a gluten-free, a vegan, and a fat-free, no-sugar-added option. Submit poster abstracts for Deaf Roc Conference by August 12
The Deaf Roc Conference, taking place on August 29 and 30, aims to advance the success of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in biomedical and behavioral science research careers and is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, faculty, and staff. Attendees are encouraged to present their research on any aspect of research in biomedical and behavioral sciences, biostatistics, or population sciences (public health, epidemiology, community, or health disparities research) in the conference’s interactive poster session. Submit abstracts by August 12.
