Careers in Data Science: ‘What I Did on My Summer Internship’

Four data science undergraduate and master’s students will share their internship stories at the annual summer internship panel.
Drag Bingo with Darienne Lake
Play bingo, win prizes (think big screen TV), and get entertained by a drag queen all-star, Darienne Lake. Drag Bingo takes place Saturday, August 31, from 9 to 11:55 p.m. in the Feldman Ballroom, Douglass Commons. Free and for University undergraduates only. Fall graduate student teaching workshops
These workshops, hosted by the Teaching Center, are for any graduate student or postdoctoral fellow at the University. “Successfully Navigating Relationships as a GTA: Establishing Boundaries, Time-Management, and Self-Care” is on Thursday, September 12, and “Giving Effective Feedback as a GTA” is on Thursday, October 10. Both take place from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom. Register here.
River Campus tour for graduate students
Are you a graduate student wanting to learn more about the River Campus? Take a tour to learn all about the various buildings and resources available. The event is open to all University graduate students and will be held on Friday, September 13, from 1 to 2 p.m. The event has a capacity limit so register today to save your spot.
Nurture your inner seed of mindfulness every Friday starting in September with the Mindful University Project’s Calming U class. The four-week course, tailored to University students, helps heighten your self-awareness, find emotional resilience through guided meditation, and offers introspective exercises and meaningful discussions.
Sessions start on the following dates and run for four weeks.
September 13 at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom
September 30 at 7:15 p.m. in Genesee Hall, Room 309
Register today to save your spot. Open to all University students, staff, and faculty. Students who attend all sessions will be able to receive a giveaway of their choosing: The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook, a meditation cushion, or a yoga mat.
