Professional development session on conference-going basics
The Office of Undergraduate Research hosts a weekly professional development series for Schwartz Discover Grant recipients on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. A limited number of slots are available to all University undergraduate students. The next session on July 16 is “Conference-Going 101” in Goergen Hall, Room 101. Pre-registration is required.
Register for Wednesday’s leadership update webinar
University leaders will host a special live webinar for faculty and staff, “Federal Policy Changes: What They May Mean for Our University,” on Wednesday, July 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. President Sarah Mangelsdorf, Provost Nicole Sampson, and Medical Center CEO David Linehan will discuss how the University is navigating potential academic, financial, and operational challenges resulting from recent federal legislation and action. Chief Human Resources Officer Kathleen Gallucci will moderate the session.
Registration is required. Please use your University email address when registering to ensure faculty and staff have access to this event. You will also need to use your University credentials to sign into the webinar on July 16. When registering, faculty and staff may submit questions in advance for the panel to consider. The webinar will include captions and American Sign Language interpretation. A summary will be posted on the University News Center following the event. Nominations open for Genesee Staff Council district representatives
Nominations are now open for district representatives to serve on the Genesee Staff Council, an advisory body that facilitates communication on issues important to University staff and shares their perspectives with senior leadership. Serving on the council is open to full-time and part-time staff in the districts listed here. Nominate yourself or a staff member by July 23. Voting will take place August 8–22. Micro-course on AI for healthcare professionals
Simon Business School offers a micro-course, Generative AI in Practice for Healthcare Professionals, on Wednesdays, August 6, 13, and 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Schlegel Hall. Early registration is encouraged. Course cost is $1,000, and University tuition benefits may cover 80–95 percent of the cost for eligible employees.
