Register for Mindful Professor training
Register today for the fall 2025 cohort of the Mindful Professor Training program, based in cutting-edge research designed to support faculty and instructors in cultivating tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and mindful leadership, while also enhancing teaching effectiveness and strategies to support student well-being. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays in the School of Nursing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Free coffee will be provided. The program is open to all University faculty and course instructors.

In the Pocket Guide for Facing Down a Civil War, peace and conflict expert John Paul Lederach names deep grievance as a condition that gives rise to conflict. Weekly yoga classes
The Mindful University Project offers free yoga classes during the summer on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. in the Leibner-Cooper Room, Goergen Athletic Center. Full-time students have free access to the gym, and faculty, staff, and part-time students can join with an R-Club membership for $23 each month. Check the calendar and sign up.

“The colonization rate of B. infantis, a bacterium associated with lower rates of allergic diseases, is very low in the United States and other Western countries, compared to very high rates in Mennonite communities, similar to some developing countries,” says Kirsi Järvinen-Seppo, who holds the Founders’ Distinguished Professorship of Pediatric Allergy and is the director of the Center for Food Allergy. “This mirrors the rates of autoimmune and allergic diseases.” These clues about the origin of the farm effect represent a step toward the prevention of allergic diseases, Järvinen-Seppo says.
