Move-out donation programs

Do you live in a University residential building and have unwanted stuff to get rid of before moving out? The University offers two programs to get rid of your items responsibly. Donate unopened toiletries and nonperishable food through “Move-Out Cleanout,” running now through May 19. On May 5 and May 17, donate larger items like furniture, lamps, mirrors, and more by visiting “Dump & Run” events happening at select residences. Get all the details and start setting aside your stuff today. These programs are sponsored by the Sustainability Office, Grassroots, and the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services.

Summer shuttle schedules, Commencement transportation, and Safe Ride

As the spring semester comes to a close, please note these important transportation updates to shuttle schedules, Commencement Day services, and the Safe Ride program:

  • Spring shuttle schedules will end on Thursday, May 15, with summer shuttle schedules beginning on Monday, May 19.
  • On Friday, May 16, Commencement Day, shuttles will operate from River Campus parking lots and the Eastman Living Center to Fauver Stadium between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Medical Center shuttle routes will run on their regular schedule.
  • For the first time, the University’s Safe Ride program will extend into the summer months, with one van operating nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Safe Ride stops on the River Campus, the Medical Center, the Eastman School of Music, and residence halls. Find the full list of stops and details for requesting a ride.

Summer dining plans

The last day to use your spring dining dollars is Sunday, May 18. Please do not deposit funds into your spring dining dollars balance expecting those funds to be available for the summer. If you want to sign up for a summer dining plan, you will need to complete a summer dining contract. A summer dining charge can be applied to your student account as long as you are registered for the fall 2025 semester.  Send completed forms as a Word or PDF attachment to mealplans@services.rochester.edu.
