Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with this three-night stay at Dartbrook House, a beautiful Adirondack retreat in Keene, New York, just east of Lake Placid.

 

Dartbrook House is a custom home with spectacular views of the High Peaks from every room. This handsome home is designed with rustic Adirondack elements and is situated on a hillside with an abundance of privacy. It features three en-suite bedrooms with slate tile baths and a fourth bedroom suite with a queen bed and two sets of bunks just off the family room. There is a gourmet kitchen with adjacent breakfast room, a large living room with fireplace, wide plank flooring and large windows that frame the mountain views. An extensive deck with a fire pit is accessed from the living room and there also is a ground-level patio. Beautifully furnished in Adirondack style throughout, Dartbrook House can accommodate up to eight guests.

 

Also included with this stay is a $100 gift certificate for lunch or dinner at Forty Six Restaurant in downtown Keene. A farm-to-table restaurant whose menu evolves with the seasons, Forty-Six Restaurant is bistro-style dining at its delicious best.

 

The Dartbrook House stay is to be reserved in advance for mutually agreeable dates based on availability and is to be enjoyed by December, 2026.

The Jessup Cellars’ story is one of family, hard work, resilience and delicious wines. Over the past two decades, Jessup Cellars has earned a loyal following for wines of distinction and one of the friendliest tasting rooms in the Napa Valley. A Bordeaux-inspired blend (but with a dollop of Petite Sirah), the 2019 Jessup Cellars Table for Four Napa Valley Red Wine was aged in mostly new small French oak barrels for impressive fruit and elegant character.

Lot #113 - Two Bottles - Ride with Bob

With an apology to those other famous Bobs (Dylan, Wills, Hope, Marley, Woodward, Ross, Mackie, Beamon and the rest), this Bob is the late Robert Mondavi (or “Bob”, as he was known in the wine business), whose euphonious winery remains synonymous with superb Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2000 Robert Mondavi Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a case in point; generous fruit, hint of mushroom and a long, plush finish. These fully mature bottles are a ride with Bob worth taking. 

Lot #119 - Five Magnums - The Fab Five

Established by the late Fess Parker in 1989, the multigenerational family owned and operated Fess Parker Winery has built a reputation for crafting exceptional small lot, vineyard-designated and single-clone Rhone and Burgundian-style wines from Santa Barbara County. Presented in Magnums (1.5-Liter), the four Fess Parker wines offered here showcase its distinctive approach. The 2019 Fess Parker Rodney’s Vineyard Santa Barbara County Syrah (rich and velvety), 2021 Fess Parker Bien Nacido Vineyard Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir (intense and savory), 2021 Fess Parker Clone 115 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (elegant and complex - one of only 18 bottles released) and 2021 Fess Parker Parker West Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (two Magnums, forward and bright) are a fine introduction to this pioneering Santa Barbara County producer.

Already impressive, it should continue to evolve in this cellar worthy Magnum (1.5-Liter).

This lot begins with an incredibly rare Imperial (6-Liter) of 2015 Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino, offered in its original wood case. Dense, rich and vibrant, this classic Malbec received a score of 95 from The Wine Advocate. Also included is a copy Malbec Mon Amour by Laura Catena and Alejandro Virgil, which details the fascinating history and journey of Malbec from Roman times to modern-day Argentina, plus a special bookmark.

The housewares are elegant designs from MacKenzie-Childs: a Courtly Check tabletop wine bucket, a package of patterned cocktail napkins and four (two black, two gray) Maypole highball glasses. The potables are equally classy: a Bottle (750ml) of Booker’s 2022-01 “Ronnie’s Batch” Bourbon and a Magnum (1.5-Liter) 2016 Hertelendy Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter signed by the winemaker.

The 2016 Chateau Gazin ranks among the chateau’s finest vintages of recent years. While extremely youthful, the 2016 Chateau Gazin features a cornucopia of cassis, chocolate, tobacco and sandalwood. Classically plush and supple, it nevertheless has the structure and balance to age magnificently, especially in this extraordinarily rare Imperial (6-Liter). This is prime Pomerol and one worthy of serious bids.

The 2001 Bodegas Tobia “Oscar Tobia” Gran Reserva Rioja DOCa blends Tempranillo with a small percentage of Graciano to achieve deep black and red fruit, intriguing mint and cocoa notes, and impressive structure. This is classic Rioja; bold and layered, yet graceful. This impressive wine is presented in an equally impressive bottle: an incredibly rare, truly massive Balthazar (12-Liter), the equivalent of 16 regular bottles.
