Crew Chiefs

The Crew Chief is a New York State EMT-B or above, in charge of the on-duty crew and all aspects of RC MERT emergency calls and patient care during their shift. The Crew Chief is legally responsible for the call and the patient care, and oversees all aspects of the call while evaluating the Crew Chief Trainee’s performance and skills. The Crew Chiefs that are designated as “FTO” are Field Training Officers with advanced experience who run in-service trainings and mentor Crew Chief Trainees.
