Celtic rock band Enter the Haggis will perform at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at The Hive in Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester's River Campus.
The five-member, kilt-wearing group made its debut in 1996 at the NXNE Music Festival in Toronto. Two years later the band released its first full-length CD titled "Let the Wind Blow High." The band has two other CDs: "Aerials" and "Enter the Haggis LIVE!"
The highland bagpipe is the most unique feature of the band's instrumentation that also includes the electric fiddle, guitars, and a driving rhythm section. Enter the Haggis has become a popular draw at pubs, clubs, and festivals and has performed throughout Canada and in the eastern United States.
The band's local appearance is sponsored by The Hive Committee. For more information, call (585) 275-5911.
