The University of Rochester Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.

Mitchell Robinson, director of wind activities at the University and faculty member at the Eastman School of Music, will conduct the ensemble in works that include Dmitri Shostakovich's Folk Dances, Erik Satie's Two Gymnopedies, and Aaron Copland's Down A Country Lane. John Altieri, an Eastman music education major, will be the student conductor for Folk Dances.

The 70-member organization is comprised mostly of non-music majors who gather twice a semester to provide the University and greater Rochester community with free concerts.

The performance is free and open to the public. Please contact the College Music Department at (585) 275-2828 at least five days in advance to request any special accommodations.
