Creating and managing the climate for successful education reform will be the subject of a new spring semester class at the University of Rochester's Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
Mutiu Fagbayi, chief operating officer of the National Center for Education and the Economy and an advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Education on accreditation standards for higher education, will teach the class. Fagbayi was appointed by the Education Secretary to serve on the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity. He also is a member of the Oxford International Roundtable on Education Policy based at Oxford University in England. The group is a forum for government, academic and business leaders to address issues at the international level.
The class will be a three-credit graduate seminar, limited in enrollment. Classes begin January 26 and meet every Thursday from 4:40 to 7:15 p.m. To register or get additional information, call the Warner School at 275-8882.
