EVENT: Violist John Graham will present "The First Performance: Preparing and Imagining a Newly Written Piece of Music," as part of the Creative Process Series sponsored by the University of Rochester's Dance Program.

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Dance Studio of Spurrier Hall on the River Campus.

ADMISSION: Free and open to the general public. Note: Parking is free and open on University lots after 7 p.m. weeknights.

Violist John Graham will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Dance Studio of Spurrier Hall on the University of Rochester's River Campus.

Graham's presentation, "The First Performance: Preparing and Imagining a Newly Written Piece of Music," will pair musical entertainment and insight into creativity. He is a professor of viola at the University's Eastman School of Music and a teacher and performer at the Aspen Music Festival and school. Previously a guest professor at the conservatories of music in Beijing and Shanghai and the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, he has also performed as a soloist with leading American chamber music ensembles and festivals.

Graham's presentation is the third in a series about the creative process sponsored by the University's Dance Program. Admission is free and open to the general public. For more information, call the Dance Program at (585) 273-5150.
