September 8, 2005

The Interfaith Chapel, the Office of College Advancement, and Alpha Delta Phi fraternity will show a new documentary that attempts to reconstruct the events aboard United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.

On that morning, Jeremy Glick, who graduated from the College in 1993, and Jean Hoadley Peterson, a graduate of the School of Nursing in 1969, were among the passengers. When hijackers took control of the plane, Glick and others phoned family and friends about a plan to overtake the terrorists. Not long after, the plane crashed in rural Pennsylvania, killing all aboard.

A discussion will follow the showing of the Discovery Channel documentary. As part of the Program of Remembrance, visitors are invited to offer prayers and written messages. The College chaplains will be available to discuss the documentary.
