The Program of Movement and Dance at the University of Rochester will present "Sol y Sombras," an evening of classic flamenco dancing and music featuring dancer/choreographer and Rebecca L. Thomas.
Thomas has studied and performed and taught flamenco dance extensively in the United States and Spain since she graduated from the University in 1999. She is a co-founder of the flamenco troupe "La Yedra," has taught flamenco and done workshops in the University's Program of Movement and Dance, and is a contracted artist for Young Audiences of Rochester.
Joining Thomas for this performance are well-known and talented flamenco artists from New York City, including Argentinean dancer Glenda Sol Koeraus, New York City percussionist Peter Basil, Argentinean guitarist Cristian Puig, and Spanish flamenco performer Alfonso Cid.
