EVENT: COMEDY CENTRAL Live Takes the Stage at University of Rochester

August 27, 2007

Mike Birbiglia, comedian and author of the blog "My Secret Public Journal," will bring his nationwide comedy tour to Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester's River Campus at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.

Birbiglia's comedic status has grown from his frequent television appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Comedy Central Live! Presents. The talk show regular has self-released the two successful CDs, "Dog Years" and "Two Drink Mike," and is set to release the new album, "My Secret Public Journal Live." Currently, the traveling comedian writes an online journal that is broadcast on the nationally-syndicated radio show "Bob & Tom."

COMEDY CENTRAL Live: Mike Birbiglia's Secret Public Tour has hit more than 30 cities and colleges and features special guest Christian Finnegan. In addition to his own Comedy Central show, Finnegan is host of TVLand's Game Time and a regular on VH1's hit series Best Week Ever.

Tickets are $5 for University of Rochester undergraduates; $12 for the University community; and $20 for the public. Tickets can be purchased online at www.choiceticketing.com/rochester (online service charges apply) or at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus. The performance is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board.

For the public, tickets go on sale after Sept. 1. They will be available at the door if not sold out in advance.
