Language Center celebrates one-year anniversary

Greek or Treat
The University’s fraternity and sorority communities hosted elementary school students from the Rochester City School District for the seventh annual Greek or Treat event last Friday. About 140 kids visited the River Campus to take part in Halloween-themed events ranging from a doughnut-on-a-string contest to a haunted house and obstacle course.
Meliora Weekend 2017
Thousands of alumni, community members, and friends of the University returned to Rochester the weekend of October 12-14 to celebrate the annual Meliora Weekend traditions of reunions, thought-provoking conversations, and family fun. Keynote speakers included Robin Roberts, Peggy Noonan, and Jeffrey Toobin, and headline entertainers included comedian Mike Birbiglia and jazz great Chick Corea.
Slam-dunking success
Former Los Angeles Lakers NBA star Byron Scott meets with athletes from the women’s basketball team for a “shoot-around” in the Palestra. Scott was in town to meet with Charlie Morris ’68 to discuss a book the pair co-authored, Slam-Dunk Success: Leading from Every Position on Life’s Court.

Nothing I can say, a partial eclipse of the sun
From Eastman Quad to the Engineering Quad, River Campus was filled with people, eclipse glasses in hand, to view the moon passing across the face of the sun, offering views of a partial eclipse. Despite some passing clouds, the show didn’t disappoint.
