Faculty, staff, and students interested in participating in the African American Network, a University affinity group, are invited to attend the general body meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in the ACF-C and ACF-D conference rooms (2-1361) in the Medical Center.

Aeisha Salem and Gila Balman, material transfer administrators will give a talk “Importance of MTAs and CDAs in Shared Research: All You Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask” at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the Class of '62 Auditorium (G-9425 and 1-2495) at the Medical Center.

A multifaceted festival marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Claude Debussy, titled “The Prismatic Debussy,” will be held at the Eastman School throughout the month of October.

Pack-4-Success, a non-profit founded June 2011 by Matthew Cohen ’11, ’12W (MS) and his sister Emily Cohen ’07, a former elementary school teacher in Atlanta, Ga., has been working feverishly this past year to raise enough funds to equip low-income children with the right tools to start school this fall.

“Targeting the Inflammatory Pathways 2012,” a conference sponsored by the Center for Experiential Learning, will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Saunders Research Building.

Faculty, staff, graduate students, and alumni are invited to submit proposals through Sept. 15 for the Pre-College Programs 2013 summer session.

The University flag will be lowered today in memory of Montre Bradley, a Strong Staffing aide, who died July 31 at age 19. Bradley, a resident of Rochester, joined the University in February. He was taking part of the Work-Scholarship Connection at Hillside program.

The Davis United World College Scholarship Program, the largest international undergraduate scholarship program in the world, welcomes Rochester as a new partner. The program has increased global diversity on U.S. campuses by awarding more than $70 million to more than 4,000 disadvantaged students from United World College high schools since the year 2000.

Every Friday, the University homepage showcases photos taken by the University community. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents are encouraged to submit photos of University life, including campuses, people, and events.

A project that will shut off chilled water service to Lattimore Hall, Morey Hall, and Todd Union has been rescheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

Thanks to donations from the University community, programs supported by the United Way Community Fund are helping thousands of local people

The Aug. 16 interruption is necessary to relocate a water main that will be displaced by construction of the Ronald Rettner Hall for Media Arts and Innovation.
