Laboratory for Laser Energetics

President Seligman issued a statement in response to the fiscal year 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill released by the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee on Dec. 9. The House of Representatives is planning to vote as early as Thursday on the measure, which would then go to the Senate. Current government funding runs out on Dec. 11.

During their week at Photon Camp, 18 students from several local high schools and the Bergen Academy in New Jersey will attend lectures in the mornings, and get some hands on experience in the laboratory during the afternoons.

Robert McCrory, director of the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, was appointed University Professor in recognition of his contributions to the physics and engineering community, the LLE, and to the University.

Suxing Hu, senior scientist in the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE)'s theory division, is recognized for his work in attosecond physics.

Yifan Kong worked on her experiment at the University's Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE).

The FY2014 Appropriations Bill includes $64 million for the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE).

Emily Armstrong, a high school senior, is among the 300 semi-finalists nationwide chosen from the 1,712 who entered the prestigious competition.
