I am pleased to announce that Dr. Wendy Fritz has been appointed as Assistant Vice Provost for International Services and Support on a permanent basis, effective 1/1/2026, following her exemplary service in this role in an interim capacity over the past year.
Wendy brings nearly two decades of experience in international education to this position. Since joining the University of Rochester in 2021, she has played a vital leadership role in advancing the University’s global engagement efforts and in strengthening support systems for international students and scholars.
Prior to Rochester, Wendy served in international education roles at Marist University, SUNY Brockport, and Nazareth University. Her professional experience spans global recruitment, English language education, immigration compliance, and comprehensive support services. She has also served as adjunct faculty, teaching courses in World Religions and Cross-Cultural Communication, and has contributed to the field through presentations and panel discussions at NAFSA and New York State international education conferences.
Wendy’s commitment to international education is deeply root
ed in her upbringing in a globally engaged household, where hosting international students and scholars fostered her lifelong passion for cultural exchange, diversity, and global learning.
Please join me in congratulating Wendy on her permanent appointment and in thanking her for her continued leadership and dedicated service to the University of Rochester.
