The University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education will welcome 22 international teachers from 14 countries as part of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program.
The participating teachers come from Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, Finland, Greece, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines, Senegal, Singapore, Taiwan, and Uganda. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs and aims to promote cultural, linguistic, and educational exchange.
Program details
From September 2024 to December 2024, the Fulbright teachers will collaborate with local K-12 schools and engage with Rochester families, contributing to cross-cultural learning within the community.
Community involvement
Members of the Rochester community are invited to participate in the program by:
- Sharing a meal with the teachers
- Celebrating a holiday together
- Attending a Fulbright event
These activities are intended to facilitate cultural exchange and offer Fulbright teachers the opportunity to experience American culture firsthand.
Living arrangements
The Fulbright teachers will be housed in apartments provided by the University of Rochester during their stay.
