Training framework overview
OHSP’s Core Training is a component of the Education and Training Framework. The training is comprised of multiple standalone modules on various research-related topics, intended to build upon preceding components of the training framework (i.e., Orientation to Conducting Human Subject Research and Research Boot Camp). Core Training modules on Study Design, Principal Investigator Oversight, Study Operations, and Recruitment & Retention are also available, with additional modules also in development.
Informed Consent module
The Core Training: Informed Consent module is course is comprised of seven training videos (one is optional), ranging in length from approximately 10–30 minutes, as well as a draft consent form review/critique activity.
Learning objectives include:
- Analyze factors that influence the quality and effectiveness of the informed consent process.
- Respond to situations where the informed consent process has been or potentially will be compromised.
- Use techniques to improve the informed consent process.
To access the course, users must self-enroll.
