Reliance Consultation Request
A Reliance Consultation Request should be submitted as the first step if you would like to use an external IRB or URochester to act as the IRB for a non-URochester researcher, study team member, or research partner.
A Reliance Consultation Request is required when relying on an academic IRB, or if it is the PI’s first time relying on an independent IRB. Consultation is not required if relying on WCG, Advarra, or NCI Central IRB, and the PI has prior experience relying on the independent IRB.
The URochester PI should submit the request, and OHSP will then contact you to schedule a meeting or obtain further information. OHSP will determine if the single IRB model is appropriate and provide you with additional information on the next steps and requirements for your project.
