VOTE 2024!

Mark Your Calendar: Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th!

While the Presidential race may be the most widely discussed, it’s only one of many critical elections taking place this November. In New York, voters will also decide the fate of all 26 seats representing NY in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1 of 2 U.S. Senators from NY,  all 63 seats in the NY State Senate, as well as all 150 seats in the NY State Assembly!

Remember: voting is more than a right—it’s a privilege that many have fought. Our namesake, Susan B. Anthony, was a pivotal figure in the women’s suffrage and anti-slavery movements. In 1872, she was arrested for casting a vote and was later convicted in a highly publicized trial. Her activism, along with countless others, brought the fight for women’s suffrage to the national stage, culminating in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920.

The struggles of those who fought for equal voting rights remind us of the significance of casting a ballot. Voting is both a civic duty and a hard-won privilege. Each vote plays a role in shaping policies that affect everything from local governance to national leadership, a testament to the ongoing journey of sustaining a free and fair democracy.
