Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
The ethical and responsible conduct of research is critical for excellence, and public trust, in science. The University of Rochester is committed to educating and supporting members of our research community to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards of research.
All Principal Investigators (PIs), faculty, students, postdocs, and staff engaged in research are required to comply with funding agency requirements for RCR training.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) have specific requirements for training in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). Information on RCR requirements for each funding agency are available at the links below.
