The summer Noyce local professional learning institute at Salem State University is focused on “Ambitious Science Teaching and Learning for All Students.” Over two days, on Salem State’s campus, secondary science educators and leaders will have the opportunity to learn with and from a wide variety of STEM researchers and educators from Salem State University, the University of Rochester, and middle/high schools across the region. Participants will learn about current research and approaches that enhance the relevance of science for secondary students, engage students in authentic scientific processes, and support development of their science identities. Opportunities for applied workshops and place-based field trips will be included as part of the two-day experience. This institute is particularly relevant for science-focused secondary school teachers, leaders, curriculum directors, and department heads.
If you are a STEM educator in and around the Massachusetts/Rhode Island/northern Connecticut region, we encourage you to register starting January 1, 2026.
