Area of Focus: Elementary Science (Grades K-5)
Anny is a third grade teacher in New Rochelle NY. Science education is a cornerstone of Anny’s classroom and she is considered a science leader in her school and district. Anny is a WIPRO fellow, Westchester STEM ambassador, and was a teacher advisor for WGBH in Boston. Anny has been working with her district to create curricula to align with the NYS Science Investigations and Next Gen learning standards. Anny’s experience in the classroom has largely been focused on English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities, having been the general education teacher in an ICT classroom for 18 years. She has been committed to involving parents in science education, hosting STEM nights at her school to encourage parent and family participation in STEM. Anny lives in Westchester County with her husband and seven year old daughter. She is a board member of her daughter’s school and is actively involved in spreading her passion for STEM.
