Overview:

This PLC is open to all high school science educators (grades 9-12). During each PLC session, participants will read a chapter from Building Thinking Classrooms (Liljedahl, 2020), and use its framework.

Using the Natural History of the Northeast as Phenomena in the World of NGSS

Overview:

This PLC will focus on the natural history of the Northeast and how to use that natural history to provide rich context for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) related phenomena and problem solving in the STEAM world.

Engaging ALL Students in Rigorous Science Learning through Ambitious Science Teaching

Overview:

This PLC will explore how Ambitious Science Teaching (AST) may serve as a research-based framework to help teachers to identify and develop curricular materials that support students in making sense of real-world phenomena by applying core disciplinary ideas and crosscutting concepts.
