Each year, the University takes time to recognize some of the accomplished students who have benefited from scholarships, and the many donors who make those funds possible. This year, as our community begins to emerge from the pandemic, we profiled four students who have persevered with their educational path and are pursuing their passions at the highest level.
Abigail Hanna ’25E—a Wisconsin-raised, Ecuadorian American cellist, and scholarship recipient—is finding her groove at the Eastman School of Music.
Alan Jimenez ’25—the recipient of the Steven and Randi Piaker Family Endowed Scholarship—is grateful to his donors for making it possible to attend his dream school.
Bianca Audrey Duah ’24M (MD)—the recipient of three scholarships—looks forward to contributing to the health, happiness, and well-being of her future patients.
For Raina Plaisir ’25, being a Women’s Network Scholar means that she’s gifted the opportunity to do incredible things. She’s pursuing it all, too, from theater to medicine.
Angelica Persaud ’25, a Women’s Network Scholar, is making the most out of her college experience—she’s grateful for the generosity of people who don’t even know her yet believe in her.
Anis Kallel ’17 (KEY), a Tunisia-based entrepreneur and former scholarship recipient, is helping Africans–many of whom don’t use or have access to a bank account–harness new financial opportunities.
Abby Hanna ’25E—a cellist, applied music major, and recipient of the Anne M. Buxton Scholarship—performs POEMA III (by Marlos Nobre), December 2021
