“What we do during our working hours determines what we have; what we do in our leisure hours determines what we are.”
– George Eastman
When we engage with others in activities that we find valuable, we are rewarded with a deep sense of fulfillment and gratification—and we can effect meaningful change.
This year, we will build even stronger networks of alumni and friends who care about the University and our future.
Your involvement begins where you find inspiration. There are many ways for you to support the University.
On January 19, Wuwei Chen ’11—a Metro NYC Women’s Group steering committee member—flew from New York City to Wuhan to celebrate Chinese New Year with her family. Her plan was to stay with her parents in their 1000 square-foot apartment for two weeks. But then COVID-19 hit.
The University is home to several community and cultural institutions in Rochester, including the Memorial Art Gallery, the Eastman School of Music, the Eastman Community Music School, and the Eastman Theatre.
The University of Rochester Medical Center includes the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Highland Hospital, the School of Medicine and Dentistry, the School of Nursing, Thompson Health, Strong Memorial Hospital, UR Home Care (which runs Meals on Wheels), and the Wilmot Cancer Institute.
