Meliora Weekend 2026 student volunteer sign-up form

  • Each year, students, alumni, families, friends, faculty, and staff come together to celebrate Meliora Weekend. As the largest of the four Community Weekends—with events held across all campuses—Meliora Weekend relies on the support of hundreds of professional staff and dedicated volunteers. Student volunteers play a vital role in bringing the weekend to life by assisting with on-site registration and check-in, supporting events, and warmly welcoming the thousands who return to Rochester each year to celebrate!

    Roles, Responsibilities, and Values

    • Student volunteers must help with at least two shifts (averaging 3-5 hours total) during the weekend.
    • Volunteers should be organized, punctual, able to stand for the duration of their shift, and can work with large groups of people for extended periods of time.
    • Potential volunteer roles include:
      • Greeting and checking-in guests at on-site registration.
      • Greeting and scanning guests at individual events.
      • Dropping off and/or picking up floral arrangements or event signage.
      • Monitoring tent entrances.
      • Assisting with kid-friendly activities.
    • Most importantly, Meliora Weekend is about having fun and connecting with the greater University of Rochester community, so we are looking for volunteers who embody this mindset!
