The National Ignition Facility’s latest shot “proves that a small amount of energy, imploding a small amount of mass, can get fusion. It’s a wonderful result for the field,” says Michael Campbell, director of the Laboratory for Laser Energetics.
With the added daily stress that family caregivers have, it is essential that they find ways of taking care of themselves too. The Behavioral Health Partners August blog offers supportive resources and positive ways to ease the burden of caregiving.
For the next installation of contemporary mural art at the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester artist SALUT (Bradd Young) fills the walls of the Hurlbut Gallery with his light-hearted and candy-colored images inspired by the cartoons and memories of childhood. SALUT’s arresting bright pastels and amorphous shapes capture the humor and absurdity of everyday life through the lens of an optimistic young child.
Attend an in-person meet and greet with the artist on Friday, August 20, at 6 p.m. at the museum. He’ll take attendees through his mural, discuss his artistic process, and answer questions. Find tickets here.
