Adrian Melissinos remembered as a pathbreaking particle physicist, mentor

Adrian Melissinos, a professor of physics from 1955 to 2022, is being remembered for his significant contributions in the search for dark matter and his skill as a mentor to generations of graduate students. Melissinos died in July at the age of 92.

Have you ever received an email from your bank or other trusted company urging you to click a link, log in with your credentials, and verify “changes” to your account immediately or face suspension of that account? Do not click the link: this is a phishing scam. By clicking a link and logging in, you provide your login credentials on what appears to be a legitimate site. University IT advises when in doubt, throw it out. If you get a suspicious email from a company, never trust the contact information provided in the email. Michael Jarvis, an associate professor of history, and his team of students and volunteers have unearthed what seems to be a 17th-century Bermudian town. University students have worked with Bermudian volunteers this summer to bring a centuries-old town to light. Read more here.
