Yvette Conyers ’07N, DNP, MS, RN, FNP-C, CTN-B, is committed to addressing the social determinants of health in the work towards social justice, especially in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conyers has been a registered nurse since 2003 and a certified nurse practitioner since 2013, practicing clinically and completing in-home risk assessments. The goal of her work is to ultimately reduce health care disparities and bring both clinical and academic work together, utilizing the culturally linguistic and appropriate services (CLAS) approach. In her role as President of the Rochester Black Nurses Association, Inc. Conyers brings passion and dedication to improving the number of students from underrepresented groups to careers in nursing.

Garth Fagan Dance, together with the Eastman Percussion Ensemble, directed by Michael Burritt (’84E, ’86E MM), and the Eastman Saxophone Project, directed by Chien-Kwan Lin (’07E DMA), join forces for an incredible evening of music and dance, including the world premiere of a composition written especially for these groups by Eastman alumnus, Baljinder Sekhon (’08E MA, ’13E PhD), titled Dreamer.

Sip a new concoction from your favorite glass and learn how to make the Meliora Manhattan or the Yellowjacket at a special mixology lesson. Settle in for the laughs at the Dine and Rhyme event. An improvisational performer will bring the entertainment!
