The University of Rochester's Center for Emerging and Innovative Sciences (CEIS) will host its annual Technology Showcase on the afternoon of April 6.
The half-day event is filled with presentations by university researchers highlighting their research, and industry and government representatives outlining their needs and the resources. The event will highlight up-and-coming technologies in imaging, clean energy, biomedical technology, and many other areas. The theme is "Building an Innovation Economy in New York State."
In the past five years, CEIS has sponsored projects that have had more than $450 million of economic impact and created nearly 200 jobs in New York State.
Headquartered at the University of Rochester, CEIS is funded by the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) through its Center for Advanced Technology program. It draws participation from a number of additional universities, including the Rochester Institute of Technology, Cornell University, the University of Buffalo, and Columbia University, several of which will participate in the forum. The event will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Rochester from 1 to 6 p.m.
