Governor Cuomo announces support for University-led data science consortium

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo yesterday announced $20 million in state support for the creation of a Rochester Data Science Consortium at the University of Rochester, with Harris Corporation as the consortium’s first partner.

President Seligman announces independent review of harassment policy

President and CEO Joel Seligman has outlined several steps the University will take to review the institution’s policies on sexual harassment and misconduct and to address claims of retaliation when complaints are made against the University. Seligman made the announcement on Tuesday, September 12, as part of a public Town Hall meeting attended by more than 500 students, faculty, and other members of the University community.

Never forget: Remembering September 11

Among the nearly 3,000 people who died during the attacks on 9/11 were six Rochester alumni—three who had just settled in to their offices in the World Trade Center; two who were flying aboard United Flight 93 when it crashed in rural Pennsylvania; and one who rushed to help survivors escaping the crumbling towers.
