WeBWorK an award-winning way of learning from homework

Twenty years ago, the idea of students doing homework online and receiving immediate feedback was a game-changer. Today, more than 700 colleges and high schools and using the WeBWorK system developed by Rochester math professors Arnold Pizer and Michael Gage.

India Baja team gets ride of their lives in Rettner Hall ‘fab lab’

Rochester’s Baja team is serving as host ambassadors to Team Helios Racing. The students flew 19 hours, stopping at JFK International Airport in New York City, and arrived Monday.

Simon grad’s team wins Tibetan Innovation Challenge

Four judges awarded Tashi Organics first place—and a $5,000 cash prize—after watching 15-minute presentations from each of the five finalists, praising the “realistic” plan and stating they believe it can make a positive impact on Tibetan refugees.

Grads can ‘cap’ their day in style at decorating event

Graduating seniors are invited to bring their mortarboards and their imagination, and choose from paint, stickers, letters and more at this year’s cap decoration event. Bubble guns will be given to the first 200 participants.
