President Joel Seligman greets the crowd gathered to celebrate the dedication of Wegmans Hall and the Goergen Institute for Data Science.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Research Rob Clark emphasized the importance of the data science field in his remarks, noting its application to problems as diverse as climate change to the spread of disease.
Data science and economics major Anya Khalid ’18 said she is happy to have discovered data science at the University. She now tutors students in the same computer science courses she initially struggled with as a freshman.
Board of Trustee chairman Danny Wegman thanked members of the University community for their leadership in data science.
