The University of Rochester will bestow honorary degrees, medals, and awards to recognize the contributions of distinguished leaders, educators, and humanitarians.

It's a bittersweet spring for the University's 2020 Davis Projects for Peace and DAAD RISE winners. Fifteen students were selected for the summer programs, which have been canceled.

Adam Snyder, assistant professor of brain and cognitive sciences and neuroscience, has received a Sloan Research Fellowship, awarded to young scientists considered to be future leaders in the scientific community.

The National Science Foundation has granted its most prestigious award in support of junior faculty, the Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, to several University of Rochester researchers this year.

Kit Miller, director of the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, and Caroline Nestro ’18W (PhD), a senior associate in the Department of Psychiatry, are the recipients of the 2020 Presidential Diversity Award. 

Todd Krauss, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry, and Benjamin Miller, Dean’s Professor of Dermatology, are being recognized this year for their “efforts toward advancing scientific applications that are deemed scientifically or socially distinguished.”

Five graduate students from the University of Rochester Medical Center and one from the School of Arts and Sciences have been offered National Institutes of Health F31 fellowship grants to support their health-related research.
