The University is prepared to keep its campuses operational and community members informed during severe winter weather.

The Horticulture and Grounds Department has accepted three national honors on behalf of the University.

The University will receive financial credits as a result of the clean, renewable energy generated by six solar farms in nearby areas. Amp Energy is also providing a $100,000 endowed scholarship for undergraduates in the College.

The program is expected to create new efficiencies University-wide in purchasing and maintenance, as well as add sustainability benefits.

The University has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Campus USA Institution for the 10th straight year.

Chihoski joins Rochester with more than 25 years of operations and facilities experience and has particular expertise in construction, facilities management, plant operations, emergency management, and environmental health and safety.

The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has recognized the University of Rochester’s Horticulture and Grounds staff with a national award for exceptional grounds maintenance.

The University of Rochester is the national champion in the diversion category of the most recent National GameDay Recycling Challenge, the nation’s premier collegiate football waste reduction competition.

Associate vice president for Facilities and Services since 2014, Bashwiner has been named senior associate vice president, effective July 1.

This new connection to I-390, along with the newly built direct access from East River Road is expected to improve safety, reduce congestion, and provide the access necessary for the University to expand.
