The Office for Human Subject Protection (OHSP) supports the administration of the University of Rochester’s Human Research Protection Program (UR-HRPP). We are:

  • Committed to protecting the rights, dignity and welfare of human subjects
  • Guided by the ethical principles described in the Belmont Report
  • Collaborative in nature, coordinating with several other departments and institutional committees that provide research oversight and support
  • Accredited through the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP)
  • A SmartIRB participating institution
