Reuse Programs

In need of office furniture or clothing for a job interview? Have items you’d like to repurpose rather than send to the landfill? Explore the University’s various reuse programs.

Surplus Property Program

This surplus property program is open to all University community members. Items are donated from different areas of the University and are then available for purchase. Pick up items for free at an off-site warehouse or have them delivered for a $90 charge.

Items are stored at the University of Rochester receiving facility located at 107 Norris Dr. (enter via Nursery St.). The warehouse is open every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Contact the Customer Service Center at 585-273-4567 to schedule a pick-up of items you’d like to donate. For questions about the program, email Chris Krenzer from Medical Center Facilities Operations at ckrenzer@facilities.rochester.edu.

School of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School

Employees in these units who are interested in repurposing items or searching for repurposed items can email Nicholas Ernst-Maynard at nicholas.maynard@rochester.edu.

Name plates

Mail used and unneeded name plates to the URMC Sign Shop, Box 623. They will be repurposed for new name plates. Note that only name plates that have not been engraved can be accepted.
