Learning through Play: Innovative Ideas in STEM Education

Overview

Learning through Play: Innovative Ideas in STEM Education is ideal for PreK–Grade 6 teachers who want to integrate play, inquiry, and authentic experiences into math and science instruction. Over two days, participants will explore how play supports STEM thinking, learn how place-based learning can address state standards, and analyze a Seedlings “map” created during a prior weeklong institute as a model for designing rich inquiry pathways within a shorter format. Building from this artifact, educators will collaborate to create their own classroom-ready lessons and materials. With opportunities to learn from experts and peers, this institute offers practical tools and hands-on exploration.

Institute Details

If you are a Noyce participant in and around the Connecticut/New York City region, we encourage you to register starting January 1, 2026.

All participants are eligible for a $250 stipend per day upon completion of the institute.
Morning coffee and lunch are included.
Participants should bring their laptop computers/devices with them.
